Catching This Disease

I can barely smell

And I can barely breathe

But I can smell your scent

Carried in the breeze

All the children playing

In the empty streets

Nothing left to wear

And nothing left to eat

All the people crawling

On their hands and knees

Searching for remotes

And watching their TVs

I have been a liar

And I’ve been a thief

I have been many things

Catching this disease

So tell me what you feel

When you cross the seas

Another day has passed

Staring at the trees

Shed some light on us

Imagine if you please

Love can give us hope

But can we shed our leaves?
