Maybe she’ll hear you

If you sit very quiet

If you make yourself gentle

If you speak very soft

She may hear you

If you strike with great anger

If you’re tortured with pain

If you sleep with a devil

She may hear you

If you bring her some roses

If you give her a dance

If you tell her something nice

She may hear you

If you dig in the dirt

And you bury your heart

If she sees what you’ve done

If she sees

She may hear you

If you die to save her life

If you’ll freeze to keep her warm

If you’re blind to make her see

She may hear you

If all you ever want

And all you ever need

Is to look into her eyes

Then just maybe

Maybe she’ll hear you
