It’s All I Ever See

Clear a mountain path

Subdue a wild thing

Touch and suck

Corrupt yourself and hang it from a beam

Choke it, whip it, tear it down

And hope it doesn’t smile

Live your life by the minute

And never by the mile

I’ve run so long and don’t know why

That I’m afraid to ask

I look inside, it’s always deep

But what’s behind the mask

A teacher and a student

They both look up at me

The beginning and the end

It’s all I ever see
